Don’t let time and costs stand between you and your master’s degree with Walden’s online accelerated master’s in education.

Walden University now offers six accelerated MS in Education (MSEd) specializations to help you earn your degree faster. Designed for self-motivated education professionals, these accelerated MSEd specializations have the same rigorous depth of learning as our traditional online program but enable you to complete your master’s degree in education online:

  • In as little as 12 months
  • For slightly more than $10,000, a significant tuition savings1
  • Utilizing a combination of accelerating and traditional courses

Walden’s MS in Education accelerated model is a fully online, instructor-led format in which you’ll find the same focus on enhancing teacher effectiveness as you would in our non-accelerated online program.

After the first course, you can take one course at a time, earn your degree faster by taking two courses at once, or choose a combination of the two throughout the program to fit your changing needs.

Focus and Format

In Walden’s online accelerated MSEd model, you can gain the skills and professional knowledge required to help diverse student populations thrive in the classroom and beyond by exploring the latest education theories and research-based strategies. Combining accelerating and traditional online coursework, Walden’s master’s in education accelerated model offers the choice of six MSEd specializations.

Courses are taken two at a time during the program, after the initial course. In accelerating courses, you benefit both from flexibility as well as frequent faculty interaction, with assignments due every two weeks. In traditional courses, you complete weekly assignments and participate in engaging discussions with other students. A faculty member provides guidance throughout the courses and assesses all work you submit. You’ll earn the same respected MSEd in less time and at a tuition savings of 40% over the traditional program.

A History of Quality

Walden University understands the needs and wants of education professionals. In fact, Walden University was founded in 1970 by two teachers, Bernie and Rita Turner, with the main purpose of creating a student-centered higher education institution for adult learners to pursue their degrees while balancing their work, families, and other commitments.

Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)

Walden University is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) for a period of seven years, from April 2019 through June 2026. This accreditation covers initial teacher preparation programs and advanced educator preparation programs. CAEP is the only recognized national accreditor for educator preparation, promoting excellence in educator preparation through quality assurance and continuous improvement. Walden University earned CAEP accreditation by meeting rigorous national standards and demonstrating excellence in the areas of content and pedagogy, clinical experiences, selectivity, program impact, and capacity for continuous improvement.
